This week has us hugely excited as the U.S. Open takes place at Pebble Beach. With this in mind, we have a fantastic trip down memory lane for you all with our Video of the Week, we preview the year's third Major and we recap our own 'Major' - the Braime Trophy.

It’s Major week...Again

This week sees the world's best head to the West Coast of America to tackle the iconic Pebble Beach Links. It is the sixth time that this magnificent test of golf has hosted the U.S. Open, with the likes of Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson and Tiger Woods having successfully prevailed in years gone by.

Aside from the stunning views, Pebble Beach will be a stern test of accuracy with the smallest greens (by average size) on the PGA Tour this season.

So, who do you think will win? Can Tiger make it a fourth U.S. Open title? Will Rory bring his Canadian Open form to California? Or can Phil Mickelson finally get his hands on the one Major that has eluded him for so long? We don't have to wait much longer to find out!

Who would lift the Braime Trophy?

Last weekend saw our Club Championships contested for. I think it is safe to say that our greenkeepers presented the course in spectacular condition for competitors to play for this prestigous trophy. Here's some photos taken a few days before, but on the day the conditions were more brutal. Who would come out on top?

After round 1 it was Joshua Bassitt who was leading the way after a 68, 4 shots ahead of his nearest competitor, Jamie Gavin while Anthony Lawson and N. Wylde were a further shot back. However, heading into round 2, Joshua showed no letting up and consolidated his first round score with a 71 in round 2 to run out a 5 shot winner from Anthony Lawson in second after he shot 71 too while Tom Chapman was third after rounds of 75 & 74.

Well done to Joshua who is this year's Braime Trophy winner!
